TAVAT is a family company headquartered in the foothills of the Dolomites in Northern Italy. By the late 90’s, it became evident that the optical industry was (and is) being overtaken by licensed brands, monolithic corporations, mass marketers and discounters, with the inevitable loss of quality, service and above all, choice. In response, Jeremy Baines and designer Norman Schureman, decided to build a brand, which would be recognized for excellence in eyewear and eyecare, dedicated to working exclusively with independent opticians who share their aims and convictions. TAVAT is steadfast in its commitment to creating functional iconic eyewear, which combines performance and design with respect for tradition.
