What frame lines do you carry?

We’ve mastered the art of selecting frames that blend timeless style and durability. Each of our frame lines has a story that begins with authenticity and a passion for eyewear. We love our selection of artfully crafted eyewear from the best designers in the industry. Our frame lines are independent and manufacture their eyewear in small batches by hand.

We have cultivated strong partnerships with outstanding companies that produce the world’s finest eyewear, emphasizing ethical practices and aligning with our core values.

This includes a curated collection of frames from independent brands like Masunaga 1905, Moscot, Thierry Lasry, Linda Farrow, ic! Berlin, Res/Rei, Kirk & Kirk, Entourage of 7, Tavat and others.

What materials are used to make the frames you carry?

Handcrafted frames are made of a cotton-based resin called Cellulose Acetate, also known as Bioacetate. It does not contain any petroleum, which ensures our lines are ecofriendly and hypoallergenic.

Many of our metal frames are made using Titanium, which is also hypoallergenic. Titanium is the lightest and strongest metal used for frame manufacturing.

What lens designs are available?

All lenses are NOT created equal. At Phila Optical, we are lens specialists. We want to know about you, your work, your play, your school and your lifestyle to find you the perfect lens.

We are ZEISS lens enthusiasts. With a legacy spanning 175 years, we are proud to partner with ZEISS to provide our clients with lenses at the forefront of technology in optics.

Through a consultation process, we assess your needs and work closely with you to recommend the best design for your needs. Our tailor-made approach to custom lenses utilizes a variety of lens designs, including progressives, single vision (distance or reading), bifocals, prescription sunglasses, and the accompanying coatings with each.

To guarantee a perfect fit for every client, we precision-cut all lenses on-site in our state-of-the art laboratory.

Do you sell contact lenses?

Yes! We fit soft and hard contact lenses for all prescriptions needs.

Sometimes, your eyeglass prescription is different than your contact lens prescription. With a consultation and contact lens fitting session, we are happy to provide and dispense contact lens trials and supplies.

Our experienced opticians can also help to teach you how to insert and remove contact lenses in the safest way.

Do you take donations of used frames?

Yes, we donate all kinds of glasses to CLERC: Canadian Lions Eyeglass Recycling Centre. An official Lions Clubs International Eyeglass Recycling Centre provides recycled eyewear free of charge to people in developing countries. Feel free to drop off your gently used eyewear anytime.
